PURE MIND

As human beings we have the possibility to view reality in two ways.

The first way is the so-called “logical way” of the habitual mind, which relies on our use of accrued details from memorised concepts and personal experiences as well as information translated via the emotions and physical senses. The problem with this habitual mind is that many of these stored events or details which we use to decide what is real are linked to physical and emotional highs and lows or egoic states, all of which remain consciously and sub-consciously fastened to our understanding, thus distorting our subsequent take on reality. This habitual mind is ego driven and directly linked to our animal ancestry. Being the mind of duality, it exists in a constant state of division, difference and separation, only grouping up when the opportunity arises to seemingly better itself in some way. The grasping way of this discriminatory mind means it is always seeking the attainment of some label, state or condition, whether that be at an emotional, physical, or intellectual level. This is because it looks outwardly for ‘things’ it wants which it believes can provide the notion of fulfilment. The paradox is that when the habitual mind doesn’t apparently have these ‘things’ it leaves the individual feeling like a failure, unworthy or incapable of achieving happiness, and when it does have these ‘things’ the feeling of fulfilment comes and goes because rather like a caveman going out to hunt for his supper killing his prey and stuffing his face – the satisfaction is only temporary and the next day another search is required. This way of the mind cannot sustain permanent peace within itself and the world at large.

The second and natural way of the mind is not to depend on thinking at all, but to use insight and pure awareness. This pure mind is beyond logic, intellect, habit and so-called reason. It can be said to be the clearest fashion by which human beings translate pure energy consciousness. Being the mind of non-duality it reveals the non-physical REAL-ity of what YOU are. Non that it could ever be said to be a 'me' in anyway! For there truly is no me in the pure minded SELF. Now ALL IS ONE - no longer lost in the mystical Oneness of altered states of consciousness and heightened experiences, but simply because there is no me and no 'other'. How unimaginably simple.

KNOWING MIND ESSENCE

Knowing the mind is the basis for the advanced spiritual practices such as Dzogchen and Mahamudra, whose purpose is to lead you towards seeing the nakedness of the mind as it actually is. For if we can directly look at the pure reality of mind then profound realization occurs. This ‘looking’ or glimpsing of pure mind reveals it to be a neutral, timeless no-state, which is completely different to the time bound habitual mind. Instead of arising from thought and effort, it is infinitely present awareness.

When we try to describe this mind essence from the depths of meditation, contemplation or samadhi, it is realized to have no defined identity, no shape, no color, no consistency, no known location and yet it is undeniably there and seemingly real.

What we can say is that it lacks inherent individuality, for its properties are seen to be the non-personal three ness’s - pureness, emptiness and wholeness. It is considered empty because it is void of apparent concepts, ideas and thoughts. It is said to be pure because it is unobstructed by individual ego or karma and described as whole because it appears complete, with nothing further to seek or attain.

Additionally there are attributes of being revealed when awakened to these three ness’s – these are peace of mind and intelligent love. Peace of mind is the unburdened stillness at the heart of being. Intelligent love is a combination of the infinite knowingness of Universal consciousness and the unbridled compassion for all forms of life.

Pure mind cannot be said to be individual because its qualities and attributes may be similarly realized by anyone who opens their mind to Universal consciousness. Of course they become expressed through various shades of character, but the nature of the mind is ONE. That is why I describe the seeing through pure mind as THIS, because it is whole and indivisible, non-personal and present. The sharing of the reality of our primordial nature is the key to its expansion and propagation.

Through knowing your mind, you will find your true nature.

BEYOND "I AM"

When we deepen our awareness sufficiently, we recognise the primary thought of I AM. This is the initial realisation of beingness projected via the mind. However beyond the consciousness of 'I AM' there is the liberated awareness of thought-free existence not projected as separate as I in any shape or form, but the active spontaneous presence of anonymous Universal Mind present within and as the human being. For when we have outgrown the need to be identified as separate in any shape or form, we enter the realm of pure formless consciousness, wherein we naturally 'blend' with the unmanifested natural potentials of Universal consciousness.

To touch the knowingness that today in this present moment you are an outer body or shell within which dwells an inner non-dual essence or spirit is the realisation of human beingness. To step beyond seeking, transcending desire and wanting awakens the wisdom of the true nature of reality, thereby revealing the complete being you are.

Paradoxically, the primary thought of 'I AM' leads to the discovery of the primary non-thought or fore-thought which is conscious via the pure mind experiencing of THIS.

THE PARADOX OF THIS

THIS is home and you could never be anywhere else.

Identity as a seperate self dissolves into the awareness of THIS.

There is nothing missing in THIS for it is all there is.

Without seeking Identity, THIS is.

The wholeness of THIS is overlooked by the habitual mind of separation.

If you know yourself as I, you deny THIS.

If you know yourself to be THIS, there is no I for you to assume it to be otherwise.

And yet all separate I's are part of the complete THIS.

No I is whole, whereas THIS is wholeness itself.

Leave your Identity to enter THIS.

All understandings of reality emanate from and through THIS.

Nothing exists beyond THIS.

The age of I is always passing away, the eternity of THIS is.

THIS never leaves you, but you could also not find it.

If you do not see THIS, you are mistakenly separated by an incorrectly assumed identity.

THIS is not only who you are, but also what everything else is.

THIS is the pure energy consciousness which realised the Cosmos.

A raw, natural intelligence way beyond the capabilities of the individual mind.

Nothing is missing, for you are whole and complete in THIS.

The seeker cannot find him or herself in THIS, even though they are present within it.

When you are aware of THIS, nothing, including the self remains and yet all is here.

You cannot physically see THIS but you undoubtedly know it to be reality.

Although you belong to THIS, it does not belong to you but to ALL.

There is only THIS.

Just THIS.

WHOLENESS - nonduality AND duality (2)

If nonduality is distinguishable as the sole reality and duality considered to be the opposing unreality, then seeing both is required in order to perceive wholeness.

For wholeness can only be the all that IS, which by it’s very nature is all-inclusive of all parts pertaining to the whole. So for nonduality to be whole it must include duality. They cannot be separate.

This fundamental truth often becomes overlooked, with nonduality being perceived as something quite separate to duality, which immediately creates a new method of segregation.

Another common misunderstanding is the “pointing to” syndrome. If someone is pointing to something, then they must be separate from it. For the very act of pointing either physically or conceptually requires division between that which is doing the pointing and that which is being pointed to, therefore suggesting duality.

There is a tendency to get caught up in traditional ‘pointers’ such as 'I AM' and 'I AM THAT', because the presence of ‘I’ when misunderstood, is a tempting bait returning many to the idea of a separate self.

So what can indicate the essential nature of reality to be non-conceptual, unlabelled, present and limitless without separation while restraining the automatic grasping for individual identity?

Answer: THIS.

For THIS is the clearest description of awareness of the true nature of reality. It is what it is. ALL thoughts, words or actions take place within and through THIS and yet if you do absolutely nothing, there is still THIS.

It is from THIS that everything arises and to which everything returns. Tracing yourself back as far as possible, you see that you are not 'me', 'I', 'we' or even 'that', but you are THIS. At this deep level, you are aware that you are not simply a body and a mind, but awareness itself.

THIS is the experiencing of the true nature of reality that you are.

WHOLENESS - nonduality AND duality (1)

So what is wholeness?

Wholeness arises through the detachment of your identity to any concept or label including non-duality itself. For reality may only be truly whole if it is understood to be undivided, so by it's very nature the oneness of nonduality must include duality, and yet we need to remain detached from both labels. For there is no separation between nonduality and duality, the only thing which separates them is the mind.

For example, knowing my essence to be nondual pure energy consciousness, let's say I accidentally walk into the small coffee table in front of me. There will be pain. This is because even though I consciously know myself to be the all inclusive infinite THIS, the body doesn't recognise the fact because it is a dense form, naturally attuned to a world of duality. Therefore as a spiritual being with a body I am both dual and non-dual. My body is dual, my essence is non-dual. To see myself as one or the other is to divide the truth of being.

Wholeness is knowing yourself to be the one formless nondual essence of spirit living in the form of a body in a world of duality.

The bridge between these two is the mind. The habitual mind of concepts and labels sees itself as separate and the pure mind realises the nature of your essential reality. Consciously recognising we are both of these is wholeness.

Likewise living in a raised state of consciousness is not the way to realise wholeness, for being a state that is arrived at, it is consequently something which will also be left behind. If it is truth, then it was, it is and will always be present as the infinite THIS.

Nonduality awoken or glimpsed purely through intellect alone fails to establish wholeness, as much as living in the separate world of duality by itself constitutes division from your true nature. So to awaken to the wholeness of being we all are, we must recognise there is a natural reason for all the parts which make us whole. For living in either detached from the reality of the other will only create further division, thus repeating the failures and mistakes so commonly found throughout history.

THE WHOLENESS OF THIS.

When all mystical experiences come to an end, when everything you believed to constitute reality has faded into insignificance, when all ideas and concepts are seen to be the illusions they truly are, you will be left with the pure awareness and clarity of THIS.

Now all things which proliferate the idea of difference and separation are recognised to be obstructions to the nature of Self.

Now you, I, we and all that IS are known to be the One. There is no more me, you or them, for they are THIS.

There is no longer any need to seek, for the seeker and presence are entwined and one
as the eternally unified presence of THIS.

Now you know that you know nothing, for there is nothing to be known. All is here and now.

THIS is whole and complete, pure untainted consciousness.

As if you have clung for years with some difficulty to a helium filled balloon, you have finally let go of the balloon only to find that you are the balloon itself and not the body you once presumed yourself to be.

Now you are the nature of the universe.

You are free, you are awareness, you are THIS.

BE STILL AND KNOW YOURSELF

This small phrase contains the secret to awakening. For when we stop the mental processes of thought, memory, concepts and the like - we may then experience the underlying true nature of what it means to be a human being. This is what I call NAKED BEING. It is at the heart of what we all are.

Naked being is the silent underlying proto consciousness which expresses the nature of the Universe, for it is the backdrop to reality, the screen on which all life comes into being. It is both within you and outside of you. Like the stars in the cosmos it may manifest or appear in millions of different ways, but it's essence remains essentially the same and cannot be altered, only becoming camouflaged by the twittering of the individual mind.

Shockingly, you experience naked being by not thinking. More specifically by not thinking about or reacting to the information relayed through your physical senses, but realising and resting in what is known as peace of mind. Peace of mind then reveals the clarity and heart of naked being, which is compassionate, caring, interconnected, loving and open. For by shutting down the interfering vibrations of the exterior world we get to directly experience the reality of naked being - the same being that is ever present within all people and all existence.

Over time, experiencing naked being becomes a more regular and constant event, until we arrive at a point where the inside and the outside perceived realities are unified. Then there is no longer an event or any distinction between states of consciousness, for they merge to be revealed as one. This is the experience of self-realisation, oneness or non-duality and when realised permanently can be described as enlightened being.

So the phrase "Be still and know yourself" is a powerful reminder of an ancient truth. Indeed it is the seed of truth itself.... naked being.

STOP YOUR THOUGHTS !

When you experience your true nature, you will have experienced stillness of mind. That stillness of mind is brought about by the cessation of thought. Essentially, this means stopping the ego from controlling your mental flow.

Now you may be concerned that by stopping your thoughts you somehow lose something that you are. But rest assured that you lose nothing, in fact you will gain increasing clarity. You are becoming mindful by focussing on the present moment - the now. In this way you apply your fullest presence to the task in hand whatever it is, so that even looking out of the window at the blue sky becomes an absolute joy, a powerful connection with the Universe.

When you deny the ego-self control of your mind, you allow the intelligent universe to flow through you unperturbed - and reveal that this in fact is your natural way of being. You are an individual representation of a connected whole - one atom in the body of God. You are everything and nothing, empty and whole - body and spirit.

All labels and identities become irrelevant, for what you are remains unchangeable and true. You are a spiritual being capable of many things, but most importantly you have the gift to recognise and share the sacred heart of your being.

So stop thinking. Stop your thoughts and experience the peace which passes all understanding- for that is what you are - that is where you came from - and that is where you are going.

Stopping your mental flow does not stop you from being, but allows you to experience being.

SO STOP YOUR THOUGHTS and experience the truth.

THE SECRET TO LIFE

So what is the secret to life?

The secret to life is to know yourself, for if you do, you will be able to reveal your true nature.
You will recognize and do away with the old outdated version that you have of yourself and replace it with something full and whole. This something whole is the true you, the consciousness that you are. For if we take away the body and the lower tendencies of the mind - what do we have left? Your true self.
Your true self does not want, does not judge, does not lie, is neither jealous or capable of hating - for these are aspects of the lower nature of man and not of his true being.
The experience revealed by touching or glimpsing this higher nature is something that will change you forever.
For this is the way in which man can get to know his own spiritual nature, the purest reflection of the divine in man. And this is not something which is difficult to know, for you are already it.
The problem most people have is that they have disguised and cloaked over this truth with limited information, memories and experiences. The way forward is to strip back the layers which hide the true you, revealing the essence residing at the heart of all being.
When we understand the elements of our being, we can then begin the journey towards uniting them and becoming holistic beings. Becoming holistic beings necessitates the knowledge of all of our parts and abilities. Can you recognize these parts within yourself? If you do you will begin to glimpse something deeper and fuller within you which is undeniable and true. The heart of your being, the source of what you are.
When you touch this source, you will experience what the mystic's label as oneness - the interconnectedness of all things. Sharing that experience is the most powerful expression that a human being can give to their lives. For by doing so, they are bearing their souls in order to share true experience. This sharing moves others to seek and find their souls - the real secret to life.

THE MOUNTAIN OF AWARENESS

Looking at the variety of religions in the world today, it is sometimes difficult to perceive that a connection exists between them all, and yet interconnecting truths of a perennial philosophy are a very real and necessary part of our understanding if we are to seek peace and harmony within ourselves and integrate that into the world around us.

The process of life, all life, is an awakening journey to reveal the memory of what we truly are. Imagine that path of awareness that we call life as being a mountain that we climb over a period of time. At the top of the mountain is a bright beacon of golden light, the Source of All Being, the Godhead. Some examples of the natural qualities radiating from that source would be unconditional love, truth, forgiveness, equality, wisdom, humility and a propensity to share.

In this way we can see that what was revealed by Lao Tzu, Buddha, Guru Nanak, Jesus or Mohammed is relative to where they were stood upon the mountain. To what altitude or frequency they became settled or attuned with, and then subsequently able to explain to others. For instance, standing at the bottom of the valley, one’s view of the summit would exist, but would not be as clear as the view of someone stood half way up the mountain; for the greater the distance between the person and the Source - the greater potential for distortion and mistaken interpretations. The closer to the zenith, the purer or less distorted the message and the greater the clarity and transformational qualities of the message.

Nevertheless, they all carried a sense of significance according to their understanding, which was very often coloured by their own cultural roots. Tuning in to a higher frequency they accessed a transcending consciousness that they translated according to their position on the mountain. The explanations that they gave for the way in which they received that information were varied, but the underlying source of the intelligence that provided them was the same. This is why no religion holds the absolute truth, for they are separate according to factors such as their era, their geography, and the ability of the messenger in delivering the understanding. The more involved the mind of the individual in receiving and delivering the insights, the more contaminated the message.

On such a mountain there could be no such thing as the dual concept of enlightenment, for everyone in the valley or upon the mountainside would be able to see the light, so everyone would be ‘enlightened’ to some degree. Whether they chose to turn away or to seek the light further would be their own decision.

Of course everybody would have originated from that light in the first place, because it is the Source of All Being, so we would simply have to awaken to the memory of it, and in doing so continue our path up the mountain. The closer you were to the light, the more warmth you would feel and the greater effect it would have upon you.

On any particular day, according to the weather conditions, magnificent glimpses could occur for anybody. And still the choice to climb or to stay where we are would remain one of our own freewill. The light would remain unchanged through the passing of time. But if the mountain symbolises the path of life, then what controls the weather conditions that can hinder or help our view? How we think, speak and act determines the individual possibility of sensing that light from absolutely anywhere. We may not be able to see and feel that light for long undisturbed periods of time, but we can all experience it’s reality from wherever we are today.

If you are stood within a busy hustling crowd then you maybe allowing your view to be restricted by the actions or movements of others. So giving yourself a little space will help you gain a better view and then you will not to have to rely on the experiences of others, or the hearsay of the crowd around you. A crowd may gather anywhere on the mountain, and could create separation if the focus of that group became itself, thereby making the experience of the light of a secondary importance. The Source at the top would instinctively know that all being was one. That there was only one reality and one truth and that each group or individual was interpreting their own separate understanding.

So if you find your view blocked by your thoughts, words and deeds or the actions of those around you, then in order to get a glimpse of the light, you will need to climb up on a rock or a tree – or get a piggy back – to find an unobstructed view. Sometimes the mystery of life will create the possibility, appearing as if by chance. From the varied experiences that we encounter on the path of life we will undoubtedly come across ‘positive’ and ‘negative’ experiences, but all experiences ‘good’ or ‘bad’ serve to provide us with an opportunity to see the light.

If we were stood close to the light, we would see that all life was a part of a whole. That each individual was a perfect and necessary example of what constitutes human existence. But there would come times when we would also be able to choose to move en mass, to consciously evolve as a race.

We tend to see our state of existence as one that still has the mountain to climb – but what if our true state of being was embracing the golden light – that once we stilled our minds our most natural state was to recognise and realise that sacred essence? Well, then religion as we know it today would begin to fade and a new framework for life as we know it would begin.

What would be revealed would be a holistic system for life, aware of the old damaging authoritarian structures and boosted by a new openness to allow challenge, suggestion and the equal participation of all. No opinion could be held above another until it was accepted and experienced by the consensus of the whole; taking the perennial truths to expose the reality of human beingness. This would be a spiritual democracy – a developing structure based on the human experience of both past and present.

Those times would mark the last days of religion, the growing up of humanity; the time when we would need to take the responsibility for our actions to provide a better and more natural way of living life, beginning with developing an inclusive view of all faiths. Using the example of the mountain, we can see that each one of us, including the founders of all faiths, have an individual awareness of what constitutes the fullness of reality. These are all reflections and interpretations of a greater whole. Jesus, Mohammed, Krishna, Lao Tzu and Guru Nanak, Zoroaster and others all had differing ways of telling the same story – because it came from a unique position, realised by unique footsteps up the mountainside. They were born in different places, cultures, religions and into the varying social strata of society, and yet they all provide the same clues at the heart of their teachings.

So what can we pull together from all these teachings? When we remove the factors and details that create an identity of belonging to any separate group, we are left with the following conclusions:

Physical existence is only one plain of reality; non-physical realities exist.

The material world is a partial reflection of reality, but another fuller consciousness exists because human experience provides proof of it.

Physical existence in the form of the body is subject to physical laws of decay.

The spiritual aspect of our existence is not subject to decay, but to eternal spiritual laws.

That ALL humans have a capacity, to discern the nature of reality and the ultimate truth. That seeking these is the purpose of our existence.

All religions have an Absolute principle, either named or formless, a God or a state, from which all existence originated, and to which all existence will eventually return – the cycle of life.

What is also clear is that the higher that people managed to climb up the mountain of awareness, the greater their absorption and reflection of the ultimate truth. These spiritual explorers all revealed clues to human potential. We are now in an age where exploring the spiritual potential of man is not restricted to one person or elite group, but is able to be undertaken and shared by all.

We have been indoctrinated with dualistic and authoritarian terms like ‘enlightenment’, ‘the unique son of God’, the last this, or the first that. Any experiential consciousness perceived by a human being, under the right conditions should be able to be glimpsed and utilised by other human beings. Therefore what these messengers who came before us provided was the opportunity to perceive the existence of a common bonding spirit or state of being, but also that our true selves, our most natural undeterred state is a reflection of God in action. We are not God, and yet we are all a part of that one underlying intelligence. This is the paradox of life as a human being. We are animal, we are minds of memory, intellect and emotion, but we are also spirit. The wonder of human existence is such that we can in our lifetimes gain an understanding of what we truly are. We are at a point in human evolution when we can observe the multi layered aspects of our beings; we can become conscious of being conscious, and therefore realise that we are not just the outward mind focussed on the physical world, but an intuitive being able to awaken to our spiritual identity.

In another way, we can see ourselves to be atoms of God experiencing and sharing the fullness of existence. The more time we allow ourselves to contemplate and explore the possibility of reaching the top of the mountain, the greater ground we will cover in our journey returning back home to the Light, the Godhead, The Source of All Being.

Religion has played a defining role in the structure of society, but today we need to redefine and evolve those teachings, to look at the deeper truths that lie within all faiths. In this way humanity will be able to walk towards the path of unification.

Each one of us has an inner knowing that life is essentially good, that the highest potential reality we can perceive is one where love, peace and harmony are present. For humankind, life has no greater gift than to be at one with ourselves and others, our surroundings, and to experience the reality that we are all one. This ‘Heaven on Earth’ is not some childlike optimism or unreachable ideal of a dreamer, but the very essence and heart of what we are. We have all experienced this state of being at some point in our lives, which is why we recognise it as being real. That sense of connection may have lasted a split second or for some sustained period of time, but the record of the experience is already there. We only need to remember, and yet this remembrance is the easiest and most courageous thing any human can do. To remember the truth of where we came from and the oneness that exists with each other. It takes courage, compassion and an unwavering trust.

The sunflower grows from a small dry seed - eventually opening it's beautiful head to the natural cycle of following the sun - so likewise trust in yourself - and the divine destiny we are all here to live will be awakened.

SPATIAL CONSCIOUSNESS

There is a way, an ability we all have which enables a fuller conscious connection with the Universe. This is the holistic mind, or what I call spatial consciousness.

Most people arrive at a decision of "what is" from the combination of information gathered from memory, analysis and the physical senses. For example, looking out of the window my eyes see a tree, and then, in a split second my 'mind' translates and confirms that vision as being a tree from the combination of memory and sense recognition. So, in reality we are only using the stored program of the mind and the physical senses of the body (in this case the eyes) to perceive "what is".

If we use the spatial way of thinking, then we can awaken a system of thought that utilises more of the being we truly are. In the case of the tree, it may not only be seen by our eyes and comprehended by our minds as being a tree, but it may be sensed through the intuitive use of the higher or METASENSES.

One way in which we can practice this sensing is by THOUGHT LOCATION. By that I mean identifying not just how and when our thoughts arise, but sensing what area they actually arise from. Studying the geography of thought can reveal more self awareness - try it.

But what happens when we realize we can improve the way in which we perceive? If we can update the program ourselves? This is what is occurring in the world today - thousands of people all over the world are changing their perception of "what is" by altering their frequency of thought. They are beginning to feel the truth of being, to grasp the gift of discernment rather than to blindly accept the general consensus of opinion. Columbus didn't accept the mass consciousness of his day, neither did Einstein and nor did Buddha. They acted on a higher form of sensing to allow something better to evolve.

An insight into spatial consciousness can be gained by learning to think in a different way, a way that no longer confines you to your old store of thought, but a way that is open and progressive.

When you normally think, you will recognise the energy or thought density in your brain area. So you initially recognise that the thought " This is what I am ..." is perceived to come from within your body, from within the brain area of your head to be exact.

But what if we outwardly project that same thought? Concentrate your thought density not in your brain, but to a few feet directly in front of you. Imagine 'perceiving' from there, rather than from inside your body. Now try again, projecting the thought outside of your body " This is what I am ..." and see the difference. Can you feel the difference? What do you sense? Not being constrained by anything that is separate you are blending with the oneness of being that is the natural state of the universe.

There are other ways that we can reveal space in our lives. The space to think, the space to breathe, the space to walk in nature, meditate and contemplate. Before you react in thought, word or deed- allow space to arise. By doing this we are providing a way in which we can introduce more stillness into our lives, remembering what we are at the heart of being. Learning to utilise this space provides a freedom (but not a disconnection) from the materialism and materiality of the world we live in. We are becoming holistic beings.

So the tools we use affect the way in which we think and we are all discovering that we have the ability to choose what we want to become, to consciously evolve as a race. This step in consciousness is vital in order to allow the same opportunity for all and to continue following our spiritual nature. When we utilise all our senses we are then becoming conscious of being conscious.

The reality is that you have more in common with space than you do with your body, for you are 99.9% space, so you have more connection with the void around you than you realise. That 'empty space' contains the purest consciousness and the fullest intelligence that we as human beings can implement. Only when we start the process of going beyond the old constraints of identifying with the body can we glimpse the potential.

When we recognise that this is a gateway to a shared ability, a unified state, then we can begin not only to break down the barriers constructed by sectarianism, religion, culture and race, but to look at taking away all obstructions that are in the way of true being.

Your space is my space - what you are is what I am. Different and yet undoubtedly the same, we are all one.

LIBERATION and NON-DUALITY

As the ego of "I" becomes further dissolved by true reality, the mind's grasp on the control of "what is" becomes weakened on an accelerated basis. The mind recognises the void because it does not see it as a challenge, but as something that can still be defined or pointed to by itself, that is to say the mind still has an intermittent role in describing the reality of nothingness. What this means is that the mind is still trying to retain some role within your outlook. Thus non-duality to some becomes an description from intellect of how the mind perceives liberation from itself, when in reality it is not liberated at all. What the intellectual description of the void misses is the inspirational heart that motivates and inspires. It is lacking some of the most powerful essence of that which we are.

For beyond the void of no-thing lies the heartland of the soul, the place of no-doing because the mind is in one sense redundant, and yet of (all) being that the mind cannot recognise for it is beyond it's ability to do so. To the intellect, this no doing and no being only confirm a reality where nothing is. Instinctively as spiritual beings we sense this nothingness does not provide a complete and full picture. For where is the love? Where is the inspiration? Where is the enthusiasm that are all part and parcel of the spirit of humanity?

The minds' deepest awareness of what it calls non-duality is an intellectual experience lacking in the sense of being filled; for being filled is inextricably linked to the human experience. The purification process has been implemented and yet the mind has held on to it's identity. By comprehending the nothingness it contentedly resides within itself, only just touching the true reality of spiritual being.

Opening the door beyond the void reveals a way to a fullness of being that reveals the complete nature of man. A way that allows all our attributes to function at their fullest potential. Not just an intellectual awareness but a wholesome reality wherein the highest abilities are recognised and shared. A mind with a heart enthused by consciousness. It is here that we truly recognise the oneness of all being, where the mind of "I" has been sidelined in order that we may truly see ourselves for what we are.

What has happened in the history of human evolution has been remarkable. What is more remarkable though, is how little we still know about our true nature. The present wave of spiritual seeking has become the latest fad. It is now fashionable to be seen as spiritual, as if the clothes we wear, the names we use, the books we read provide proof to ourselves and the rest of the world that we have some form of truth within us. But when we look closely people are still stumbling over the same old problems that have always been there. It is as if the human race has spiritual amnesia, the loss of memory as to what constitutes our true nature. For those suffering from this dreadful condition, it is recommended that they read the following:

Enlightenment is not something you need to seek or attain.

You are an enlightened being and it is only your mind that is obstructing you from sensing this fully. You can feel the truth of these words and remember that you are a powerful, positive person whose contribution is desperately required in this world. Your truth is here. At the purest level of human understanding, we are all one. There is no superior or inferior being, there is just being.

Your ego obstructs the truth.

Your identity has been gradually compiled by your mind through your life experiences and perceived understandings, but this is not your true identity, it is just that which the mind wants you to understand as being 'you'. Going beyond the mind of "I" reveals your true identity, the essence of the spiritual being that you are. The traditional methods for going beyond the mind are through stillness, contemplation and prayer. The more baggage that the mind accumulates, the more obstructions we place in our way. Peace, love and harmony reveals the truth of what you are.

Your body will die, but you will not because you are not just your body.

At a deeper level we know this to be true, but we can't quite figure it out. Your body is matter and all matter perishes, so one day your body will simply cease to be. Your true being, your soul can never die because it has the capacity by transcending the normal mind to realise that although it is connected to you as part of your human 'being' it also has the ability to continue life without the body, that it is eternal. We can only grasp this as being true once we recognise the existence of the soul within us.

If you know yourself, you will know all others.

When we truly know ourselves, we see that all the years spent in the belief that people are somehow separate, different, better or worse, were times spent in ignorance. All people are equal because they originate from the same one source of life. The ability to realise your true nature which is expressed through your soul, is not limited to intellect, wealth, status, colour, creed or religion. It is awakened in you through your discernment of truth. We already have it, we just need to remember it is within us.

Aspire to be filled by love

No mind can deter the pure light of truth that shines from beyond time and space, for it is from beyond. It is pure aliveness, the untouchable and perennial consciousness. It can never be absolutely identified as existing in the world of form, and yet it has never been away for it is life's most constant companion.

The mind alone cannot perceive it, for the mind opposes it being the instigator of mans’ selfish instinct to gain more for himself alone. Clues as to the existence of this light are revealed by discerning or sensing what exists beyond intellect, emotion and desire. True identity reveals true being, the light that all humanity carries within.

Light can only gain more light, for the source is unlimited, the radiance beyond comprehension.The mind of man can only comprehend what light it allows itself to perceive, whereas the light is the source of comprehension itself.

The source of the light, hidden from the senses of the insensitive mind is eternal inspiration and infinite perspective. Beyond the body, beyond the mind, lies the beyondness. This is the kingdom of 'God', the realm of truth, the mystical reality of all being. There is only one. One truth, one reality and one 'God', and all perception is based upon what degree we awaken to this.

Awakening to this realm is like climbing a high mountain. We struggle to find our way and yet we can choose to stop at any given moment. We perceive that at the top of the mountain lies a secret, a hidden treasure, or a nest containing a golden egg. If we manage to arrive at the summit, we find no secret, no treasure, and no egg. But as we sit in our disappointment, we feel the warmth of the sun, which was there all the time. We reveal to ourselves that any disconnection we felt in our lives was a result of conclusions arrived at by what experience the mind proposed as reality.

When we see the sun, we can see and feel her radiance sweep across the whole valley. In cycles, she arrives and then disappears into the night as if she never existed at all, but of course, like the source of life herself, never goes away, always is. But what if we were part of the sun? Then we would never be disconnected from her radiance. We could leave darkness behind forever, becoming her constant companion.

It is our perception of existence that constitutes its reality; if we did not perceive it, it could not be. Discovering that you are interconnected naturally with "all that is" proposes a wholeness that the mind cannot contemplate.

Life therefore is about recognising in order to realise. Becoming one with the universe reveals the beauty of universal consciousness, where all is one and one is all. What that life is, is always of or own making, our own choice. We can choose to understand all life, for by understanding the oneness of all life, eternity appears.

These words are not my words, for they do not belong to me, in fact they do not belong anywhere, for they are words from beyond. From beyond you, beyond me, without label or identity, they are words of light diffused through consciousness. This is what truth is. Not opinion or judgement, but touching the light beyond thought, beyond what our eyes behold and what our minds conceive. There is a definable wholeness expressed in this reality. What is the understanding of existence at this point? We exist, intertwined with all existence, for this is complete union and there is no separation. So 'we' are existence, yes, but ‘we’ refers to all existence, not just human being, but all being. This comes from the one source that we are inextricably linked to. The source that we light upon when we rediscover our true selves, for we are that truth that has never changed, the sacred self of the soul that remains ever-present. To understand that we all have the ability to share in this natural interconnected joy is in many ways beyond our mental comprehension. But we are sharing it because we are that existence. We are consciousness experiencing consciousness, for that is the awakening of souls, the realisation of being beyond form and the vital part of all reality. Only when we perceive that 'God' exists can we begin to realise him. For if we look for him in the form of another, we will never find him. But if we look inside, then realise the inside to be a mirror of the outside, we will experience him, and then he will experience us. We will share our experience or consciousness with the 'God' of our understanding. As a drop of water has the same qualities as an ocean, it cannot claim to be that ocean, and yet it can claim to own the same properties.

When we understand the meaning of presence, we see that the air we breathe just is, as the flower that grows just is. If we then align human existence to this just is, we see that the IS best expresses the essence of unobstructed being. So if we can rid ourselves of all the obstructions of the mind, we can just follow the natural path of our souls. We can become something that just IS and which has no requirements, no need to search or question. The need to own or to have is relinquished. The perception of the old self is forfeited. Everything just IS and we just are. This is not an empty dull nothingness expressed so well by the nondual 'intellect', but in a full, inspiring electric consciousness bursting to express and share in order to better all life.

Existence.

Our world is run on dysfunctional consciousness, because all those things that are deemed to be of great importance are actually not important at all, in fact they do not exist. They are self-designed illusions of grandeur and will fade away. They have nothing real about them. What you have inside you is what all have inside them, the potential recognition of the existence of an absolute life, where consciousness is fully alive within you and you being aware and conscious of that very fact. As we walk away from seeing our identity as the "I", we begin to alter our awareness of reality, for the two come hand in hand and cannot be separated.

Stripping or peeling away the "I" reveals that the seed of the true self exists in all and all exists within the true self. Our evolution towards our true selves can be measured by the distance we have realised from our old selfish ‘I’, for the ‘I’ and the true self are the opposing poles of human existence.

THERE IS NOTHING ...

There is nothing to seek, because the reality we search for is something we already are. Every single one of us is awakened when we deny the veils created by the ignorant mind which disguise and obstruct our true nature, for by decreasing our “I” we systematically increase the recognition or remembrance of our true being. The process of looking at ourselves without allowing the old controlling mind pulling the wool over our eyes is a pathway towards deeper knowing.

Are we ready to let go of the ‘self’ that we and others have spent a lifetime inventing? For many in this world, this is too much to ask. To reveal to oneself that the ‘life’ we have constructed was in fact carried out by poor workmanship, built with materials of inferior quality, with only one guarantee, that one day it will all fade away to nothing is too much to contemplate. But there, beyond the invented veils of the mind of “I”, in the farthest depths of our being, is the only reality worth realizing, one’s eternal self, and our true identification. An awareness of consciousness that has been built from the highest quality material, and made to last beyond time itself.

The veils so readily proposed by the addictive mind indicate that we want this or want that, need to be this, or need to be seen as 'something' in this world, but this is all a hallucination. What is real is this instant of peace, this sense of love, this reality of arriving beyond the thoughts of the mind, returning home like the long lost prodigal sons and daughters that we all are. It is in this place that you never left that you reveal your true self. The constant noise of thought, like some annoying interference heard on an old fashioned radio, is gradually dissolved by tuning in to your innermost reality, the real you. This is the true recognition of the underlying self, rediscovered by stripping away rather than adding to, revealing rather than accumulating. What you naturally are is this pure aliveness that is formlessness.

Eventually a point arises where there is no more “I”, for all conscious thought has ceased to occupy the addictive mind. This reveals the true nature of man, the reality behind the misleading overcoat of matter, the essence of the true self that has not left you for one second and yet somehow the revelation of a complete experience of life.

TRUE IDENTITY

Throughout the ages the seemingly endless search for human beings has been to attempt to answer the question " Who am I?". The traditional religious masters view on this describes it as the I AM or source consciousness, the stillness within.

The absolute truth can equally be understood as the consciousness which reveals that I AM NOT for the real essence of your being is consciousness (or spirit) and therefore what you truly are is formlessness, yet at the same time completely whole. Surrendering your identity you will lead you to an awareness where all is one, seeing through the transparency of the world of matter into a new complete state of being that contains all consciousness. It is not a separate consciousness from what we understood previously, but now a whole awareness rather than a partial perception of reality. It is full-on reality in it's unabridged stunning truth.

If we were to question this state of consciousness, the conversation might go something like this;

What is it that you really want?

I want for nothing, but am present in all.

If you could have anything, what would that be?

To accept the truth that we can never really ‘have’ anything.

If you had all the money in the world, what would it mean to you?

Money in itself has no meaning; the use of it is the lesson.

What is the secret of life?

There is no secret, accept that which is your true self.

And what is your true self?

The true self is an aspect of 'God'.

So you are saying that we are 'God'?

We are all aspects of God, for we are a part of that whole which constitutes God.
When we walk with God, we express that consciousness.

And how can we find this 'God' ?

By baring yourself, by laying open all the thoughts, words and deeds that have accompanied you on your travels. Cleaning the slate of life so to speak.

So we have done wrong ?

There is no wrong or right, merely a question of letting go and growing up, allowing the true expression of your soul into the world.

How do we know that you are telling the truth ?

That is for you to discern as you will. If you have to discern it, you are in the process of finding it. We must recognise in order to realise.

And what do you recognise ?

That we are all reflections of one another, part of the same oneness that constitutes life. Together we are capable of changing the world we inhabit.

What's wrong with the world then ?

The world was created as one face of expression, just as you were created as another face of expression. When you constantly take from one source without replenishing that which you have taken, there is only one outcome and that is devastation.

Is climate change a part of that devastation ?

We cannot separate the devastation created by war and the chaos of climate change created by man, for they are both methods of abuse. When we constantly abuse something, the abuser will get away with it until the day that the abused party says ‘ No more’. Then a re- balancing needs to occur. What is happening to the Earth is also happening within the consciousness of her inhabitants, for at an indefinable point, they are one.

Can we change the future ?

You can change the future by becoming a part of the present moment. We can become part of it by recognising yourself in the stillness of our soul, for this is when we exercise our expression of presence, the true essence of our being.

How can we become present ?

Exactly that, by becoming; not by thinking or by doing. Life is about becoming and we become that which we allow ourselves to become. If we dwell on the past, or dream of the future, we miss the now, the present. When our energy is present we are present in our truest expression.

What is the point in true expression?

The expression of truth is necessary in order that humanity may learn to evolve. The simplest lesson of this we have is the sweeping of dirt under the rug, for eventually one day it will not be hidden any longer and will need to be rectified.

There are many such examples of 'dirt' that have been swept under the 'rug' and ignored by the world for too long. Do we understand the true consequences of the atomic and hydrogen bombs? The true pollution caused by man purely for financial gain or the consequences of the many decades of oil being sucked out of the body of the Earth?

It is the same with ourselves. We sense what is right, but rarely do it, for most human beings in the western world are selfish ( they want for themselves), spoilt ( they want it right away) , greedy ( they want more) and lacking in focus, for their focus is wanting, which of course you can never have, because you can always imagine something else that you want.

When the focus is apparent, it appears to be financial gain, gloating over others misfortune, self importance, or our physical appearance. As if all these outer appearances constitute the true world. They do not, for they constitute a world lost in its own pleasure of self, a world where many are overlooked for the few, and where an approaching self created devastation lurks just around the corner.

Ignoring something for a long time escalates its inability to function correctly. Shutting our eyes to the present state of the world does not help alleviate the problem. Likewise ignoring the truth of our individual state of being creates dysfunction in the body-mind-spirit system.

Where the mind and spirit are ignored, the resulting action is animalistic and the resulting consequence is chaos.

Where the spirit is ignored the resulting action of the body and mind is overblown self value, a vain, confused, ignorant self centred being not aware of is true essence, out for all it can get for itself and its own. The resulting consequence is mental disorder, dysfunction and devastation.

When the spirit is recognised the resulting actions are those of love, patience, truth, understanding, peace, humbleness, loss of self, completeness, wholeness, purity and an open heart to all existence. The resulting consequence is the revelation of our true selves.

THE SPIRITUAL STATE

By moving into the present moment, the 'hic et nunc', we become transformed into being. The old reality of the world of doing now appears pointlessly concerned with endless insignificance. So how then does this change help others? The answer is, that by altering our states of being we also transform our qualities. These qualities then come bursting back into the world because the greatest natural quality of the conscious intelligence behind life is to share with all. It is inclusive, denying none, accepting of everyone and everything. This 'spiritual state' then begins a natural process of feeding itself, of nourishing itself, and by doing so begins a process of transformation within others. This transformation is a reflection of the remembrance of our origins and is accepted by us on an individual basis, for when we need to see something, we will find it.

It is consciousness, and it is this awareness of consciousness that can change the world we live in. It does not belong to one person, but to all. It is not only a reality solely of the present day, but of times gone by and times to come, for it is eternal. The beauty of consciousness in it's purest state is that it not only no longer requires personal identification in the form of the "I", but also that it lies beyond the self-imposed boundaries of time and space.

"Humanity has time. Consciousness has eternity."

The more people that develop this consciousness, (what is referred to in the book as the awareness of One) the greater effect caused in the world. One day the spiritual state that transforms ourselves and others could lead to the creation of a truly physical Spiritual State. A united world no longer separated by countries or religions, where all people are truly equal, arriving at a time when humanity finally becomes consciously unified by awakening to true being.

Surrendering Identification

When we truly enter the present moment (the now), then we have surrendered our identification with the "I" of our being. We have given up our old tendencies for seeing ourselves as a separate and different. We then become at one with all creation. Whole and complete not just in the 'individual' perceived sense of the word, but as a functioning part of a collective, unified consciousness that holds all existence within it. Relying purely on the higher or metasenses in order to reveal reality, we no longer depend upon the previous emotional and mental boundaries of the mind. Freeing ourselves in this manner, we do not find that we are separate or special, but rather that we are reflections of the same evolving conscious reality. Having no longer any need for identification with form, we are free from the chains and out dated limitations of the old, insecure mind.

Although there is no individual or separate identification as before, we still continue to sense personal reality through the use of the metasenses. In this connected state, we can identify with certain qualities or aspects of being such as wholeness, completeness, stillness, fullness, truthfulness, and a natural loving state containing empathy for all life in its many varied forms. It is this combination that constitutes the true nature of the fully conscious human being.

Most people do not want to give up the identification of themselves and the world they inhabit because they have spent a lifetime chasing endless identity in order to quantify what they are today, and yet humanity urgently needs to evolve through the surrendering of identity, or it will one day simply cease to exist. The chaos created through increasing identification with matter will continue to escalate until a point of collapse, unless those ready to stand up do so, and join hands within the only awareness that can unify the human race... conscious evolution. In this way humanity can abide within a consciousness that provides equality to all it's members. The unitive life that would consequently occur could remove the prospect of all future war and domination, evolving our world into a new society that thrives on giving, loving, denying none and profiting all. A spiritual state in all senses.

The recent escalation of awareness is occurring for good reason. The present extremes of terrorism, civil unrest, floods and continuous war, all combine to reveal a counter awakening of recognition and realization. We are now becoming aware that we can change the world we inhabit simply by changing ourselves. We no longer have to do anything other than consciously evolve as individuals, for this will create an outpouring on such a huge scale that the world as we know it today will change, moving into a golden age of prosperity.... spiritual prosperity.

There is no "I" in True Presence.

Imagine that the "I" you perceive as that which constitutes you does not exist, for that is the reality of being truly present. When we are truly present we realise that there is no"I", that we are all a reflection of the same presence in various guises. Being truly present, we no longer perceive consciousness as residing within the human body, but as a unified constant encompassing both physical and spiritual realities. So the more "me" or "I" that remains in our awareness, then the less present we actually are.

There is a dissolution of separateness whereby the universal consciousness cannot divide one part from another, for it is wholeness in action. There is a sensing that at some point of origin, all came into being from one point, as if everybody and everything is a resulting reality from the explosion of one pure primordial atom. We see that the mind provided the "I" as a conceptual boundary to provide one understanding of the reality of existence, but having now transcended the old workings of the mind, we have also transcended the "I" that associated it's uniqueness and existence from being separate.

It is this presence that reveals our true selves, our true nature. Presence itself can be said to be automatically functioning, in that it has no need for reflection of identity because it is whole, it is completeness. It acts through a perfectly natural process of divine love. It requires nothing in return, and expects nothing. It unifies through sharing and unconditionally giving love, joy, health and happiness to all being, human or otherwise. There is no logic followed, because logic is another conceptual boundary of the outdated mind. True presence is being in the flow of universal consciousness and therefore not comprehending anything other than the unified state of existence.
The "I" becomes left behind, an outgrown entity left behind in the wake of the ongoing progress of conscious evolution.

So to find yourself, you must truly let your self go.

The Third "I".

As there are three parts that combine to give a whole human being (body, mind and spirit) there are three corresponding layers of the self or ego that provide us with differing perceptions of consciousness. They may be explained as the following;

The Insignificant Self: The first "I".

This is the "I" that we have grown up as understanding to be our true self. In fact it is the lowest vibration we can reveal of ourselves, the reality of which is based upon the fractionate state and of being separate, for it seeks to validate its own worth by distancing itself from others, seeing that someone else is better or worse, richer or poorer, pretty or ugly, more intelligent or plain stupid and so on. Constantly judging the value of itself and others by appearance or description and not by sense or feeling, it provides a distorted reality that has no long term significance, which is why it may be called the insignificant self.

The Significant Self: The second "I".

This is the "I" that has found some experience feeling the connections that exist between all things. By reaching a recognition or having indications of your true self, you have begun to awaken the real you, started a journey destined towards the revealing of the true self. Very often this is something we touch upon by what we perceive as fate or accidents. In reality it is an opportunity that presents itself to partake in life at a deeper, more subtle level. We experience the aspects of the significant self through the higher or metasenses, those feelings that take us beyond that which is recognised by the ordinary senses of the body. The process of life provides an unlimited number of these opportunities to allow us to experience this such as falling in love, the birth of our children, even chronic illness or the loss of those close to us. Through these or similarly powerful eventualities we may begin to feel that there is something more to existence, a certain hidden something that we were previously unable to perceive, for they provide gateways to sensing an underlying intelligence behind all existence.

The True Self: The third "I".

The irony of the third "I" is that it cannot be separate, so therefore it cannot be "I" in the normal sense of the word. It is more like "We" or "Us", but even they do not provide a fullness of the understanding. It just is. It is inclusive existence no longer separated by the individual boundaries sustained by the previous forms of self. This is where there is no separation between the self and all existence, for what you are is existence, your understanding no longer "my awareness" but awareness herself. That everything that was, is or will be is one, for there is no distance between them, they are combined in a oneness that is the eternity of now. Things are just not simply feeling or seeming like they are interconnected, for they are one, all life perceived and lived through one unitive consciousness. This is the awakening of you true self into presence. You are whole, you are complete, you are one.

Steps to Awakening

There are several steps that we can take in order to reveal the true essence of our being; awakening ourselves to presence.

Firstly we must learn to disconnect the ego, the I, from our true identity which is presence or true existence. If we cannot begin to extricate the ego from our true self then we cannot move forwards, for it will always be seeking to retain control. When we can see that the ego is not the master and no longer the reality of what we are, then we may begin to learn to put it firmly in its place. For it does have a place and should not be ignored, but revealed for what it truly is, your insignificant self.

Next we can let go of old thoughts and emotions that constitute the past and future, for these elements reconnect with the old understanding of what the ego patterned as "reality". This is the baggage that we carry, the previous experiences and their associated emotions which we constantly refer to. We must simply clean all this out, getting rid of the then ( past and future) in order to replace them with the now.

We must be continually aware that we constantly face confrontation from the ego. This is the war of the worlds. The winning side will resume control and therefore dictate what is deemed to be reality. The ego will attempt to claw you back into your old ways, and like a traveller standing at a junction, it will be you and only you who decides which way to go. This is where learning to discern becomes a necessary tool of guidance. Being able to discern or sense allows continued recognition of what truly is and therefore what may be realised.

Lastly we should remain aware that the "I" ego is not only encouraged to surface from within ourselves but also from our interactions with other people. We can be drawn in, or allow ourselves to be reconnected to old habits of thought through the situations we share. Always remember we should not seek to blame ourselves or others for this, but we can keep aware of the many ways that the changes in our perception of the self arise or become altered.

The whole process of awakening is one of recognition and realisation. We must continually recognise that which we presently are in order to reveal that which we are becoming.

Into the Pure 'Ness'.

The suffix -ness refers to a quality state or condition of that which it is aligned with. In this case the ness is that quality or aspect exuded from presence, the expression revealed from being in the now.

When we are most present, we are most conscious. No longer aware but aware-ness herself. We become the quality that is directly derived from the state. We are complete. Existing in whole-ness, and no longer perceiving reality purely from the physical or mental states, we experience the presence of being rather than the thoughts and feelings of our minds and bodies. Identification with form ceases and we become awakened to the finer form of consciousness.

Lose your 'self' to find yourself. And when you find yourself, you will find all others. You will still be you, yet you will no longer see things from the perspective of the 'I', for you will become we. For we is the spiritual condition for the mind that transcends all realms of being. When we forget our spiritual nature, we may return to the vibration of it by remembering that WE ARE ALL ONE which in turn permits us to recall and reaffirm that reality.

So what is it that allows us to forget or ignore our ability to manifest our expression of ness ? The answer is ... us. If we hold ourselves back, deny it's existence, resist it or confuse what it is, then the mind has pulled us back down into the realm of objective thought. To stay with presence is to be present. To hold the moment, not dwelling on past or future, but to recognise the now, expressed through the ness. The now is presence. This is what you are. The eternal you that transcends ordinary thought and touches truth.

When we are present, we see that what we really are is consciousness. What we align the body & mind with is what dictates the consciousness we allow ourselves to utilise, and therefore what our connection to presence is. How we treat and maintain the body & mind elements of our being is the deciding factor of our reality. This is the spiritual meaning of purity. To not allow the possibility of dysfunctional being. To not abuse ourselves or others physically, mentally or emotionally. When we learn to do this, we have learned to remove the self placed obstructions to finding our true selves. The resounding consciousness of truth becomes apparent, for truth is not only an answering tool, but a quality of being. When truth becomes a quality of our being, we enable the recognition of its existence or its dissolution. The same knowing applies to all qualities or attributes, for we are able to perceive their reality or their lacking. All except one. That one is called God-ness. For every single part of existence is an expression of 'God' in some form. We might not be aware of it, but we are not always aware of what we are. This unified state of consciousness reveals a most humbling thought; that the 'God' found within you exists everywhere else.

The Mind of 'I'.

The mind of 'I' is the resulting action of the ego that considers the individual self as being the most. The most important, the most right, the most intelligent, the most gifted. It is from this fractionate state of being that mankind has created and continues to create wars, illness, separation and religious differences.

If we as human beings want to evolve on from the mind of 'I', then we need to open ourselves to the spiritual reality of oneness and to recognise that we are all one. That the same atoms that merge to create you, create everything and everybody else. The vast majority of what we are is space. All space is filled by one interconnected consciousness that we become aware of when most awakened to the state of presence.

So let's try and forget the 'I' and move on to the 'We', for this description is most accurate when reflecting our sacred nature. For when we no longer allow separation from each other because of our bodies and our minds, the resulting state or condition is a spiritual one. The spiritual state in its most present reality is one of total unification, for the purest quality of spirit discerns no difference in the animate or the inanimate. Time and space become inconsequential, seeking and discerning truth the navigation system of the mind.

When most present, we see that 'you' and 'I' are truly one. 'I' is no longer of importance because for its very existence it requires separation from an inclusive state, for the spiritual state above all is an inclusive state of oneness and presence that cannot be divided.

All life is an expression of presence.
All presence is an expression of 'God'.

Exit Thought ... Enter Presence.

Entering the deeper dimensions of spiritual awareness may be arrived at through the cessation of thought. By stilling and detaching the mind from the seemingly constant flow of mental debris, we become more aware of presence, for we have established the basis of a route towards spiritual truth. The obstructions hindering our realisation of presence are self-created; stress, worry, thoughts of must do this or must do that, combining and escalating with the exceedingly fast pace of modern life and the present abundant wants or desires of the material self.

Releasing the old pattern of thoughts that correspond to apparent being (what we are perceived to be by ourselves and others) allows us to explore more meaningful levels of existence. When we are no longer constrained by the limitations of the neutral mind of our society, we ascend a ladder to discover the new, each step providing a greater understanding of what constitutes reality.

Time spent in presence is time away from the isolated image of self, for accompanying increased awareness comes the realisation that everyone and everything is present to a degree. We can then move on to the concept of letting go of the 'I', for what is the 'I'? It is only the you at some level holding on to your identification of a separate self, and by allowing this to continue, we are consciously agreeing to carry on the illusion of separation between ourselves and others. The more we explore the spiritual ladder, the less we recognise the 'I' that constitutes what others consider us to be. It is only when the 'I' becomes dissolved in unified presence that we enter our true state of being.

Simplicity is the key, for the truth is simple. It is the dysfunctional existence of today which clouds our interpretation of what is reality. Through presence we come to recognise that absolute truth exists, but that it exists beyond the world of form. That the greatest and most rewarding treasures in existence are eternal, for they are consciousness, they are spirit.

The Most Beautiful Experience.

The single most fulfilling and rewarding experience we can have in this life may be gained by entering our highest states of consciousness. This elevation of the mind facilitates the ability to awaken ourselves to our true divine nature, allowing our greatest understanding of what we fully are to come into action in the physical world. This experience is a complete and wholesome experience, for it does not lack input from, or provision for, any area of our being. Our body, our mind of emotion and our mental framework all become unified with our spiritual nature, yielding a unified one. In this state we can experience the greatest wonders of our potential.

Residing in this state, we are drawn to wholeness and to well being. The well being of all people and indeed of all life becomes our natural empathy. We no longer arrive at choices governed by the individual mind and emotion but via a pure instinct to share Oneness, to help all forms of life because we understand that they are interconnected with ourselves. In fact in many ways we no longer perceive differences in each other, for we have awakened to the spiritual reality where we are all one. We have entered a natural flow of higher instinct that enables a true reflection of our being to establish its presence.

When the objective mind is surpassed, we enter a miraculous world. A world where healing another being can be instantaneous, where our new senses suggest a different reality of human existence. This is because all the normally separate aspects of our being have become unified, and in becoming unified we now have all these aspects and qualities at our immediate disposal. We are a fully functioning body, mind and spirit. Everything becomes fully automatic because all needs are seen and met. Understanding, then entering and holding this state is the next evolutionary step for humanity. For if we can achieve this, then the wars of the world will have finished for good, illness will become understood and eventually overcome, and life and death will be seen as what they are, an amazing continuous incredible adventure.

Seeds of Oneness.

Oneness is a state, quality or condition that we can all awaken to. It is not some rare ability or some 'commodity' that can be bestowed or sold on by a special chosen few. We are able to accept or provide guidance for each other, but the possibility of the realisation of this state exists for all. Nobody but ourselves can give ourselves Oneness for it is a seed that resides within. Once we discover it, our deepening awareness of it will correspond to how we nurture that seed. How we subsequently choose to look after it or whether we neglect it. The blossoming of consciousness arrives as a direct result of what we have allowed to rule and guide us. Our thoughts, words and deeds will provide the fullest evidence of that focus we have applied to our lives, for what we choose, we become.

If we want to realise more Oneness then we can no longer think of ourselves as separate beings, for the essence of Oneness is being and residing in the One consciousness. When we have let go of the old redundant self and the corresponding limited empirical mind, we can then open up to new beginnings. For we are that new beginning and it is only the tiresome wanting to hold onto the illusions of self and matter that slows us on our journey.

When we choose Oneness, she welcomes her into her home like a long lost friend. When we ignore her, we cannot understand what is missing in our lives. We attempt to fill the emptiness with things that will inevitably decay or that temporarily relieve our inner suffering. Yet we must seek the cause in order to establish the true cure.

We cannot become whole until we take care of all of the parts of our being; our bodies, minds and our spirits. Our consciousness or connection to spirit resides within the field of vibration that we sustain through choice. Having this freewill of choice means that we have the ability to discern what we become or what we feed the seed of our consciousness with. Imagine consciousness to be like a seed you plant at home in a small flowerpot. If you constantly neglect it, put it in the dark, take little or no care of it, forget to water, it will lead a stunted and difficult pattern of growth, maybe become diseased and not reach the natural potential that it has. But if we visit that seed daily, and it is placed under the right conditions required for growth, by supplying the needs or requirements of that plant we will eventually witness the blossomed beauty of the flower in all its glory. So it is with consciousness. It is our freewill that decides what we feed our seed of consciousness with. Love or hate, I or We; these and many other choices become recognisable in our daily lives.

Taking the road to the unitive life of Oneness requires the dissolution of all previous understanding of self that we have gained over our lifetimes. We are brought up understanding that I am this, or that you are that, my name is this, I was born then, my job is this, my degree was attained at such and such university etc.... but all this goes. It does not go completely from memory, but it fades from the focus of your mind because it becomes irrelevant, it resides with the old self.

Many people will hold back from entering the eternal now of Oneness because it denies the security of themselves that they have spent years accumulating. For when we enter we see that all those matters we once presumed to be so important and with which we aligned our identity, no longer matter at all. For the world of matter is ironic for it does not matter at all.

Experiences we gain in this lifetime on Earth, allow us to move forward and evolve. Only when we display competence in our ability to best nurture our true selves can we then contemplate another existence. For then the blossomed flower recognises the seed and the seed recognises the blossomed flower.

The Blessed Opportunity of Humanity.

The potential for human beings to evolve at this time is enormous, for as we move deeper into an understanding of the source of our being, we approach a time that corresponds with the quickening of the evolutionary cycle. This speeding up allows for the present rapid growth in awareness of individual, group and mass consciousness.

Unlike all other forms of life on Earth, humanity is blessed with the chance to discern the truths of being, to grasp the knowledge of the individual parts that make us whole and to develop each part to its fullest possibility. We are not bodies, for we are also minds full of thoughts and emotions, and should we able to allow it, we may become one with the stream of universal consciousness that radiates from the Source of All Being. At some point in our evolutionary cycle, we will all realise this state of being. Some have already, many more are about to, and eventually this elevation in consciousness will occur in all, for the benefit of all life in the Universe.

The transformational change to Oneness is possible because the miracle of you is possible. The joy of life lies before you, the incredible wonders of nature are there to inspire you, the sacred possibilities of consciousness can not only take you away from the separation created by your body and mind, but may replace what previously existed there with a fullness of higher being that transforms yourself and others, creating a better world for our children and our children's children.

The World is Awakening.

Consciousness is awakening people throughout the world, for we are in a time of immense changes on Earth. Beginning to realise that all people and life itself is essentially ONE is fundamental to understanding the process that we are undergoing.
The Oneness of being allows us to perceive the interconnectedness of all life. Not just human life, but ALL life.

When we leave behind our connection to the material world and the limited identity of a material self, we enter a new phase of life experience. We enter the eternal present. We understand that our perception is correlative to experience and understanding, but that all experience is unlimited. That each one of us has everything we need to move our consciousness.

Simplicity is the key, for what complicates and obstructs our purest existence is identification with the body and the mind. When we move into that profundity we all may share, then all previous ties become dissolved and yet we remain unified with all existence. We see that ALL IS ONE. You are a reflection of me and I a reflection of you. That we are all aspects of the same source of creation.
